Ripen & Thrive

Did you ever think that there is only one visible spectrum? I’ve always been fascinated with the ways bees see the world. They have compound eyes arranged next to each other, each with its own lens and each looking in a different direction. The diamantine multi-eye gaze allows them to capture the overall image, with its radiance and energetic intensity. And if the human eye can see the subtleties of shape, texture and specific color, the bee’s eye relies more on image motion than form. If we can zoom into the intricate design of an image, the bee gets a snap shot of its overall vibration through combining shorter wavelengths and piecing the information like a puzzle. A kaleidoscopic vision is obtained, which fosters their ability to assimilate and pollinate rearranging information into myriads of images from which new forms ensue.
As we move into the bounty of summer, very much like bees, we are asked to tap the eclectic store-house of knowledge. It’s time to refine our creative identity by cross-pollinating ideas, and nurturing our social self. As we blend practical and imaginable we create grounding rituals. We begin to cherish opportunities and mature our ideas. Resources appear to support us. This process of maturation entails trust and faith in the sacred play of things. As we anchor into our true purpose we attract the right situations and relationships, indulging into experimentation and embracing life changes which can be invigorating and exciting. To maintain stability in this eclectic time the complete opening of the heart is essential. Focusing on personal needs and exuberating in the plentitude of options that are streaming our way is a top priority.
In the Upanishads, the sacred yoga texts, abundance is a constantly thriving state. It is neutral, un-polarized. The Sanskrit word is “Purnata” and it feeds into a well of possibilities that can only be tapped in moments of true reciprocity. Literally, the word translates into “pregnant with meaning” – a state of totality that encompasses the fullness of our being. Accessing these boundless resources through purity of heart and mind we magnetize opportunities for living with fuller expression and satisfaction. We attract life experiences that nurture our soul.
As the Earth’s bounty flourishes, fruit ripens and flowers glisten shamelessly under the sun’s flair, we are ready to engage in this lush dance and take pleasure in loving our world, our beautiful selves. Peering through the bee’s lens we will find abundant proof in the kaleidoscope of summer – an ever-shifting circle of nuance and glow. Relish this dazzling divine fever and don’t hold out for the perfect situation. Feel when the spiral peaks and take a leap of faith!

Beginner’s Yoga Routine: Ripen & Thrive

This Yogea sequence is especially designed for beginners who want to get a well-rounded body-mind experience. The slow pace and clarity of execution promotes proper postural alignment, while toning the core. The centering effect of the integral routine feeds on a bountiful blend of standing poses that build stamina, inversions that stimulate circulation, backbends that invigorate the spirit, forward bends that cool the body and sooth the mind, and twists that purify the glandular system. Traditional “asanas” are coupled with efficient stretches to facilitate a deeper opening in the hip and shoulder girdles and an elongation through the sides of the waist. Suppleness of the hamstrings and calves, as well as the IT band is increased through a weight and angle shifting flow.  Special emphasis is placed on binds and meridian crossings to provide a balancing effect, and boost the self-regulatory processes in the body. Level alternation, directional and weight shifts are conducted slowly, while building a solid base to ensure unimpeded transitioning from one pose to the next. The meditative pace and subtle articulation of every joint helps beginners enjoy a safe, but challenging practice.
