Mermaid Splash
Mermaid Splash (reminiscing a mermaid splashing its tail ashore) – Spinal Twist
Brief alignment:
From a seated spinal twist tilt the body to one side as you cross one thigh over the other. Let the overlapping knee touch the floor and twist from the mid-back gazing at the shoulder. Slide your forearm along the lower back to clasp the opposite elbow while pressing the hand into the floor, making sure that the shoulder tracks over the wrist. Twist deeper from the mid back and spiral your gaze over your shoulder, opposite to your knee – splashing your tail and bathing in the light.
Benefits:
Stretches the gluteus, hip flexors, upper arms shoulders while decompressing the lower back and promoting the production of synovial fluid within the vertebrae.
