Mirror Mirror – (alludes to the divine reflection within, activates self-worth and elicits introspection)
Brief alignment:
Start in pigeon folding front leg in with the heel pointing to the groin. Hook back leg into elbow crease while extending the forearm parallel to the gaze like a mirror. Gently revolve your gaze back into the mirror as you hold opposite shoulder with front hand, while pointing the elbow down. Resist the tendency to tip to one side by anchoring the opposite groin. Engage the front foot and twist from the mid back while maintaining the shoulders even.
Benefits:
Stretches the hip flexor, knee, quad, deltoid, neck; releases emotional blockages from the hip; activates digestion and elimination; encourages introspection
Contraindications:
Hip, knee, groin, psoas injuries and tight quads.
