Guess what? We are walking rainbows…
Have you ever wondered what your color is? Not your favorite color, but the hue of your radiance. We hear and read so much about the colors of each chakra and we try to integrate the color therapy into out meditation, diet and wear. But the truth is that our naked bodies also emit a shade of color. The color beams out from our aura and impacts the world in a certain way. There are no positive or negative aura colors. They can be either disrupted or deranged colors, depending on the level of purity of our energetic frequency.
It is also fascinating that we tend to wear the color that will enhance a certain chakra. If our connection to the Earth is compromised, we would go for red. If we want to bring more “qi” into our abdomen and boost our reproductive glands we would pick orange. If we need to bolster our self-worth we would draw yellow. If we feel shaky in our relationships we will attract green. If we have a hard time expressing ourselves we would prefer blue. If we have blocked our intuition and need some guidance we would seek shades of purple. And if we are disconnected from our Source we would be fond of pale violet and shades of white. Truly wondrous, how we naturally attract the hue to heal our deranged energy center and restore the balance. So we can broadcast our true color into the world through our “aura”.
Auras are given off by all living things, because they emit energy with a special vibration and color. That color can be seen by some psychic people and healers. To the contrary, scientists who need tangible proof use the “Kirlian effect” to capture vibration through sound or color. It is a certain type of perturbation method that you apply to any object. For example, if you need to know if a wall next to you is solid or hollow, all you need to do is to “knock” it gently and listen to its response. The response of the wall (the sound it emits) reveals the wall’s internal properties. The same approach applies to detecting the hue of any object that you subject to a pulsation. The electro-photonic glow that reverberates is our “true color”
The aura consists of seven levels or auric bodies. Each one of the subtle bodies that envelop the physical body has its own unique frequency. They are interrelated, and affect one another and our feelings, emotions, thinking, behavior, and overall health. A state of imbalance in one of the bodies disrupts the rest. If the physical body is in limbo you will emit a dark red aura that would reveal your unresolved anger and frustration with people and things. If your emotional body is wobbly you will be lacking on self-acceptance and self love and probably radiate a dark orange hue. If your rational mind is unsure and you lack clarity and are unable to make right decisions, you will bathe in muddy yellow. If your higher astral body is challenged and your relationships are put to test, you will drown in moss green. If your causal body is blocked and you digest psychic information, you will sink in deep purple. And if your higher intuitive body is hampered by lack of trust and faith in the Divine Order, you will be clouded in gray or brown. If you need protection through all bodies you will be engulfed in dusty white.
Although our aura color is contingent upon our well-being, mood, environment, relationships and circumstances we all tend to have a general hue that we carry through our lives. Our auras reveal information about our thoughts, feelings, dreams, and even others’ wishes for us. The question is, how can we tap this intangible radiance and what is it composed of?
Remarkably, the aura is partly composed of electromagnetic radiation, spanning from microwave, infrared to UV light. The low frequency microwave and infrared part of the spectrum (body heat) seems to be related to the low levels of the functioning of our body (DNA structure, metabolism, circulation etc.) whereas high frequency (UV part) is more related to our conscious activity such as thinking, creativity, intentions, sense of humor and emotions. Funny enough, the ancient practice of Yoga teaches that our DNA can be altered, by influencing its Aura. As we purify our body, thoughts and raise our consciousness our color intensifies to embody our innermost self and produce our spiritual signature.
We cannot fake the Aura. It shows our True Nature and intentions for everyone to see. But we can purify it, restore its luster and bring it to a healthy, luminous glow.
The ancient healers of Ayurveda believed that the aura could be “pacified” by right diet, appropriate scents, herbs and essences, as well as breathing, meditation, chanting and creative visualization practices. When you want to bring your aura to its optimal sparkle, you need to focus on refueling the heart and the throat center. A weekly heart-opening yoga practice will boost your self-worth and reignite the trust within. Then you can shine your truth openly, because it comes from a compassionate heart and a free mind. Your true color will merge with the rainbow and beam your smile into the world.
Heart-opening Yoga Routine: True Color (open level)
This Yogea routine targets the opening of the heart center and allows you to cultivate gratitude and unleash abundance in your life. The sequence starts reclining to give you a clear sense of grounding so you can trust the serendipitous play of the Divine Plan. A kneeling back bending series is followed by arched lunges and supported bridges to let gratitude gush into your cells and fill you up with a sense of purpose. Bound neutrally rotated standing poses open up the hip and shoulder joints and facilitate supple hamstrings. Belly arches stimulate the heart center countered by forward bends that calm the mind. The juxtaposition of attitudes reminds you when you need to open up to the world and when you need to draw the focus in and receive. A final supine upper chest opener uplifts the whole body to the miracles ahead and then grounds you down into an inspiring creative visualization on retrieving your true color and attracting abundance in your life.
