Navigating Change in Motion – YOGEA Breathing

I hate to admit, but for the past three months I’ve been struggling to tame the monkey mind during meditation. No matter how hard I try to tune in I simply zone out, catching myself wandering through an intense train of thoughts. I find clichéd excuses: the world is in complete disarray, this year is tumultuous for everyone, I have too many things on my plate…The truth is – I am afraid of change, clinging to my usual meditation tools, unable to relinquish the past and embrace a new challenge.

Well, l did break this ominous pattern by trying out a floating meditation, while sitting on a raft. As I closed my eyes, I felt my roots were fluid and flexible, my mind – free and open to venture in any unchartered territory, my body more receptive and less fixed. I sat and floated, whirled by the wind as I yielded to mindful motion. The experience reminded me of my first encounter with artful flow when I rode a ferry and created “Yogea.” There’s magic in being rooted in the flow, always susceptible to the undercurrent, ready to adjust to any new challenge.
Every time you feel bound to follow your habitual routine, take a U turn and attempt to navigate change on the go! As you join me for a boat ride in Central Park in NYC we will luxuriate into a revitalizing breathing practice and a whirling meditation. You don’t have to be a whirling Derwish to do that. You just need to board your inner Wonder Wheel and be ready to turn the key…

YOGEA Navigating change breathing and meditation practice helps you balance while floating, both physically and mentally. A simple Qi-Gong Earth-Sky circle balances your energetic flow as you purify the electromagnetic sheath – your aura. By drawing balls of energy with the arms and hands we are able to harness life-force and stimulate the growth in the body, as we work against the harmful effects of free-radicals, and defy the aging process by promoting a healthy flow throughout.  As we activate the vital chakras (energy centers) at the base of the spine we are able to unleash the creative power dormant within, while wringing out impurities and flushing away toxins. The natural spinning of the floating surface we are rooted in allows us to shift perspective while bringing the awareness inwards into the subtle body. We challenge our notion of grounding by accepting mindful motion as a power tool for self-confidence and trust. We gain inner focus while moving and are ready to navigate change even if our life is at a whirlwind. The energetic shower prior to the meditation transfers the bio-magnetic rays from the palms into the organs and catalyzes the self-healing mechanism in the body. We become buoyant and suspended, grounded and firm as we bathe in joy and appreciation.
